Akwa United utility star Ndifreke Effiong has been drafted as a late replacement for Italy-based Ola Aina, who has withdrawn from Super Eagles matches against Seychelles and Egypt.

Chelsea loanee Aina was this weekend sent off in action for Torino in the Serie A.

Effiong’s versatility has seen him play in defence for the country at the 2016 Rio Olympics and at hometown club Akwa United he plays in attack that he is now one of the leading scorers in the league with five goals.

Coach Gernot Rohr has already called up Flying Eagles skipper Ikouwem Udoh to replace injured Samuel Kalu of Bordeaux for the Eagles games against Seychelles and Egypt in Asaba.
