AFCON: Super Eagles are the team to beat in Cote d’Ivoire, says Boniface

Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface believes the current Super Eagles squad have the capacity and quality to win next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, in Cote d’Ivoire.

Speaking with journalists from Africa after scoring for Bayer Leverkusen against Borussia Dortmund, Boniface said it is always a dream to play at the AFCON.

The in-form striker added that his major focus at the moment is to help his team in the German Bundesliga, who are currently the table toppers with 35 points.

His words: “We don’t know because the list is not out so we will wait till that very time. Of course, it’s the dream of every Nigerian football player to represent the country at the AFCON and winning it.

“I remember Sunday Mba scoring a goal. We won it at that time and celebrated it as well. So, we are looking forward to the next AFCON.
