AFN Congress postponed till January 2023

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, says it has postponed its Annual General Congress earlier billed to hold in Asaba, Delta state Monday December 5, 2022 on the sideline of the 21st National Sports Festival which began on Wednesday November 30, 2022.

In a letter addressed to the 37 State Athletics Associations including the Federal Capital Territory and signed by Rita Moshindi, its Secretary General, the AFN says the postponement is ocassioned by the inability of the Constitution Review/Amendment committee to submit its report.

‘I am directed to inform you that the AFN Annual General Congress earlier scheduled to hold on Monday December 5, 2022 has been postponed,’ read the letter from the Secretary General.

The AFN says the new date for the congress will now be Saturday January 21st, 2023.

‘In view of the postponement, I am directed to inform you that the new date for the Annual General Congress will be Saturday January 21, 2023 in Bauchi,’ wrote the Secretary General.

The congress will now hold on the sideline of the maiden edition of the AFN Cross Country competition which has been fixed for January 21, 2023 in Bauchi.
