AFN President Commiserates With Ojeagbase Family

The President of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Chief Tonobok Okowa has expressed his deep condolences to the family of sports mogul, Dr Sunny Obazu Ojeagbase over his transition to glory in the United States last week at the age of 71.

In a statement in Asaba, Okowa extolled the deceased for his immense contributions to sports journalism as a reporter, editor and publisher.

Okowa, who is also the Executive Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission, recalled his pioneering efforts in sports publications dating back over three decades under the aegis of Complete Communications where through hard work and perseverance, he churned out captivating titles to the delight of Nigerians until death.

He prayed God to sustain his family in these trying times as well as give them the fortitude to bear this monumental loss.
