AFN shifts 2nd Golden League to next week

Date:

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, has postponed by one week its second Golden League competition.

The event had been scheduled to hold between Wednesday and Thursday this week at the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium stadium in Benin City.

Rita Moshindi, the federation’s Secretary General, says the event has been rescheduled to hold from 14 – 15 June at the same venue.

‘This change of date is due to the circumstances beyond the control of the AFN. All inconveniences caused by this change is hereby regretted,’ wrote Moshindi in a circular sent to all States Athletics Association, clubs and Military and Para-Military clubs.

The AFN also says ‘entries for the event have also been extended to accommodate those that have not been able to send their entries’ prior to the postponement.

The first AFN Golden League was held at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja last month.
