African Women’s Volleyball Championship: Al Ahly Face CFC As Zamalek Tackle KPC In Semifinal Battles

Four semifinalists- Zamalek, Carthage CFC of Tunisia, Kenya Pipeline (KPC) and Al Ahly- have emerged after recording victories in their quarter-final battles on Wednesday at the 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship.

Ahly of Egypt became the first club to reach the semi finals at the ongoing African Women’s Volleyball Inter-Cub Championship holding in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.

The nine-time winners (1999, 2000, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019) defeated Kenya Prisons 3 set to 1 (25-12, 25-20, 22-25, 27-25).

Following the victory, Ahly will face Carthage of Tunisia in the semifinal of the competition. On their part, Carthage of Tunisia defeated LTV of Cameroon with three straight set wins 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-22) despite spirited efforts from.the Cameroonians, the Tunisians showed professionalism, tenacity to humble their opponents picking semifinal ticket in the process.

In another quarter-final game,, Kenya Pipeline (KPC) humbled APR of Rwanda with a 3-0 victory to set up a semifinal battle with Zamalek. Despite APR showing spirited energy to upset KPC in the first set, the Kenyans were ready for the business from the start as they edged their opponents 25-21 before Rwanda ladies slowed down in the last two sets to hand over the slot. The other sets ended 25-17, 25-14.
In the last quarter-final duel, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) lost 1-3 to Zamalek. The Egyptians were held to a 1-1 draw in the first two sets but rejuvenated to win two conservative sets (25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21).

CFC Tunisia Vs Al Ahly at 6pm

All semifinal matches will be played on Friday at the Indoor Sports Hall of Moshood Abiola Stadium.
