Ahmedu Celebrates First Bank’s AWBCC Progress

First Bank Female Basketball Club of Lagos head coach, Peter Ahmedu is celebrating his team’s qualification for the quarter-finals of the African Women Clubs Basketball Championship in Maputo, Mozambique.

Ahmedu said the Nigeria Women Premier Basketball League champions all put up great efforts to win four straight matches in the continental competition.

The female national team, D’Tigress assistant coach hailed his players for a job well done, after The Elephant Girls concluded their group stage run with total supremacy over their opponents.

Following Wednesday’s 83-45 win over CNSS of DR Congo, which capped a perfect run of four wins in four games in Maputo, Ahmedu said he is now thinking of going all the way.

Ahmedu further enthused: “I am happy that we have come this far, and I believe we can even further.

“With the right bearing in the team, I believe that my players have what it takes to go all the way to the final and lift the trophy.”
