Newly elected Spokesperson for the Boxing Promoters Association of Nigeria (BPAN), Edna Bola Aiyegbeni, has pledged that the new executives will work diligently to restore the sport’s former glory in Nigeria.
In a telephone conversation with the sporting press, Aiyegbeni, daughter of the late prominent boxing promoter Chief Francis Aiyegbeni, expressed gratitude to BPAN members for electing her to the management board.
She emphasized her commitment to engaging with key stakeholders in Nigerian boxing to help develop the sport at the grassroots level.
“We want to tap into our country’s enormous talent pool and give aspiring boxers opportunities to succeed on both national and international platforms. The creation of BPAN is a landmark in the history of boxing in Nigeria,” stated the CEO of the Aiyegbeni Boxing Club, located in Ibadan.
“I am sure the synergy between the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) under its President, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, and its scribe, Remi Aboderin, will be strengthened,” she continued, expressing her belief in the abilities of the BPAN executives led by Imadu Tucateco.
