In-form Middlesbrough striker, Chuba Akpom has been nominated for Championship Player of the month for February.
The England-born forward has been nominated alongside three other players for the award.
He scored five goals in five Championship matches for Middlesbrough in the month under review.
He is currently leading the Championship scoring chart with 21 goals from 28 matches.
“A striker transformed under Michael Carrick, Akpom looks a natural coming onto the ball from slightly deeper. Five goals in as many games included finishing a fine team move against Blackpool and scoring in the vital win at Sheffield United.” EFL wrote on their official website when announcing the nominees.
Middlesbrough manager, Michael Carrick has also been nominated for the coach of the month award alongside Burnley’s Vincent Kompany.
Akpom is eligible to play for Nigeria having represented England at the youth level.
