Super Eagles hopeful, Hamdi Akujobi posted another scintillating five star performance as he scored in their 2-2 away draw against NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands Eredivisie game played on Sunday.
The flying in form Almere City right wing back, was named in the Week 22 team of the week side following a gritty larger than life showing against Utrecht FC last weekend where they won 1-0 away from home.
Akujobi, who has been in devastating form this season, posting one top notch performance after another, followed up on his last weekend’s display with a well taken low drive shot to score his side’s second goal in the 74th minute before Nijmegen drew level during the added extra time in the 90th + 4 minutes.
The goal would have been enough to secure all three maximum points for Almere but for poor defending which enabled their hosts to equalize shortly before the final whistle.
“I’m very excited to have scored today, Akujobi who was the second best player in the game said after the match.
“Though we are a little disappointed for not claiming all three points from the match which we had the opportunity to do.
“But it’s perhaps better than losing all three points”, he said.
Almere will come up against Feyenoord, Ajax and FC Twente in their next three matches which will be very tough.

The team just has to keep in their new found resurgence to stand any realistic chance of avoiding the drop at the end of the season.
Almere is still rooted at the bottom of the league table despite amassing 4 points in their last two matches.
