Despite losing 3-1 to FC Twente in an Eredivisie game played mid-week, Almere City flying and utility wing back, Hamdi Akujobi shone like stars in the match.
The week 31 fixture, which would have helped Almere City push up furthermore on the ladder, had they gotten something out of the game, saw Akujobi who should be considered for Super Eagles call up given his blistering form this season, playing the full 90 minutes and giving a good account of himself as always.
Almere City is happy to have Akujobi back to full fitness after some injury setbacks which limited the numbers of games he played, but his addition since regaining fitness has helped them climb out of the relegation waters to a safer 12th position on the log.

The enterprising wing back, who can play from any of the positions which he demonstrated with huge success this season that he is comfortable and can operate effectively from both wings, whether right or left wing back position, gave the traveling Almere supporters something to cheer even in defeat.
