Saudi Pro League side, Al Nassr, has reportedly opened discussions with German champions, Bayer Leverkusen to acquire the services of Super Eagles attacker Victor Boniface.
Top transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggested that Al-Nassr representatives are currently in Germany to explore a potential deal, revealing that the delegation will engage in talks with both the club and the player as they aim to secure the forward’s move to the Saudi Pro League.
Despite recently signing a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen, which made him one of the team’s highest-paid players, Al Nassr remains keen on signing Boniface in the January transfer window.
The Saudi club is reportedly seeking a replacement for Fenerbahce-bound Brazilian star, Talisca, who is undergoing a medical which to seal a move to the Turkish club until June 2026.
It’s been heavily reported that the Nigerian international is top of Al-Nassr’s transfer list alongside Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.
Boniface is currently on the way back from a thigh injury that he picked up during the November international break. He was in great form before his injury however since then, he has lost his place to Patrik Schick who is looking back to his best.
Boniface was one of the Bundesliga’s leading goal scorers last season but has since been plagued with several injuries.
Factoring this and the stellar form of Patrick Schick, you can understand why B04 are willing to do a deal this month for a decent fee.
Having just turned 24 in December, it remains to be seen whether Victor Boniface is ready to abandon his European aspirations and take on a new challenge in Saudi Arabia, particularly at such a pivotal stage in his development.
