Alaba Akintola hoping for lightning to strike twice at Conference USA Outdoor Championships

Sprinter Alaba Akintola will be hoping lightning will strike twice this weekend when he competes at the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the second consecutive season.

The 21 year old ran his personal best of 10.04 in the 100m at the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships last year at the Park West Athletics Complex, San Antonio, Texas.

Akintola is a strong part of the Middle Tennessee University track and field team to the championships this weekend, this time at the University of North Texas Track and Field Stadium in Denton, Texas.

The 2021 National Sports Festival 200m champion holds a 10.08 personal season’s best in the 100m this year which he achieved at the Music City Challenge at the Vanderbilt Track, Nashville, Tenneessee at the end of April.

Also competing at the championship is jumper, Esther Isa who placed second (5.80m) in the women’s long jump final at the Music City Challenge.
