Amusan Wins Egypt FA Cup With Pyramids

High-flying Samuel Amusan has won the Egyptian FA cup title with his team, Pyramids.

Pyramids defeated Zed 1-0 in the 2024 Egypt Cup final after waiting for many years to win their first major title.

Although, Pyramids had previously played in the Cup final many times in the past, but they met either Al-Ahly or Zamalek and never won any.

But there was no stopping them this time as a lone strike by Fiston Mayele in the 87th minute of the match held at Borg El Arab Stadium was all they needed to emerge champions.

With this victory, Pyramids became the 13th club in Egypt’s history to clinch the Cup title, and it is the first since 2011 when Enppi defeated Zamalek that neither Al-Ahly nor Zamalek didn’t win the title.

Pyramids’ participation in the Egyptian Super Cup, which is scheduled to be held in the Emirates, was confirmed alongside Al-Ahly, the league champion, and Ceramica Cleopatra, in addition to a team that will participate with the golden card from the Egyptian Federation.

Recall that Amusan had recently featured in their CAF champions league clash against, JKU of Tanzania.

The young winger got promoted to the main team not too long ago following some consistent showing in the Youth team.
