Nigeria midfielder Joe Aribo has hailed his former Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard for his career development.
Aribo linked up with the Gers in 2019 from English club, Charlton Athletic under Gerrard’s tutelage.
The 25-year-old has now established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.
His versatility has also boosted his profile with the player able to play in wide positions and as a forward.
Aribo moved to Southampton from Rangers this summer.
“Playing under Steven Gerrard was amazing,” Aribo said via a Twitter interview on Monday.
“He was a big factor in me joining because I felt wanted. He’d banter with me, he was just really good to me.
“Even off the field, if I was off-form, or I didn’t see myself on the training ground, he would notice it and pull me to his office and speak to me.”
