Men of the 4 Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army in Benin City have arrested four suspected kidnappers along the Ahor and Uselu-Nahor axis in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area, Edo State.

The arrests followed a “cordon and search operation” conducted in the communities after multiple reports of kidnapping incidents, according to Captain Victor Adebanjo Omotosho, Operation Officer of the 4 Brigade. The operation took place last Sunday.

Captain Omotosho confirmed that the army recovered weapons including an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine, a pump-action gun, and other items. Two vehicles — a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Highlander Jeep — were also seized during the operation.

Describing the arrests as a “positive development in the collective fight to rid Edo State of criminality,” Captain Omotosho emphasized the army’s commitment to maintaining security in the region.

The four suspects — Frank Anthony, Endurance Egwasa, Sunday Alex, and Stanley Osazuwa — denied involvement in kidnapping. Anthony claimed he was asleep when soldiers raided the house where he was staying.
