Arsenal have joined the growing list of suitors for Bologna star Aaron Hickey.
Hickey, 19, has been capped twice by Scotland and his performances in Serie A have alerted a number of clubs. Newcastle, West Ham, AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli, Fiorentina and Arsenal have all asked about the left-back.
That is the news from Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via Viola News and cited by Sport Witness. The Gunners have joined those clubs in registering their interest for the Glasgow-born star.
Napoli are said to be heading the queue, but any deal will be difficult due to the intense competition. The “starting price” has been set at €20m (£16.77m), with Bologna hoping for a bidding war for the player.
Whether Arsenal would consider such an investment on a position they are well covered for remains unclear.
Mikel Arteta already has fellow Scotland star Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares in his squad.
It might just be that no club will be able to get their hands on Hickey this summer. The former Hearts man, joined the Italians for £1.5m in 2020 is not in any rush to leave the north of Italy.
