Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has identified Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe as the natural ‘heir’ to Argentina captain Lionel Messi and Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mbappe became the record goalscorer in PSG’s history over the weekend with his 92nd-minute strike against Nantes.
The France international scored his 201st goal for PSG, eclipsing Edinson Cavani to become the record goalscorer for the club as he helped his side clinch a 4-2 French Ligue 1 win against Nantes.
“When you look at the two bosses before him, Ronaldo and Messi, it is the same thing,” Henry said, as quoted by Le10 Sport when speaking about Mbappe.
“That is why I called him [Mbappe] the heir because he is the one who comes after, for me and that is clear.”
