Arsenal midfielder Partey pulls out of Ghana squad for Super Eagles friendly

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has pulled out of the Ghana squad to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an international friendly on Friday.

Partey is yet to feature for the Gunners this year, as he is still recovering from an injury.

The 30-year-old sustained a groin injury in November 2023 that required him to undergo surgery.

The midfielder was was scheduled to return in early February but suffered a setback with the same injury.

This means Partey has played just 276 minutes of Premier League football this season.

The Black Stars had called up the former Atletico midfielder for their upcoming friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda, however Partey is understood to have excused himself as he works towards reaching full fitness.
