Akwa United United manager, Ayodeji Ayeni has expressed his satisfaction after his side held Group A leaders Bendel Insurance to a 1-1 draw in Benin City on Wednesday.
The Promise Keepers were looking to avenge their 2-0 home defeat to Insurance early in the season.
Instead the former champions returned home with just a point and also dropped to third position on the log.
Insurance took an early lead through Imade Osehenkhoe but rallied back courtesy of Cyril Olisema’s fine strike.
Ayeni reflected on the outcome of the game which according to him was a fair outcome.
“We came here fully prepared and with the determination to pick three points but at the end of the day it’s one point that we got and I think it’s a fair result considering the fact that it was a tough game,” Ayeni told Akwa United’s official website.
Akwa United will next face Enyimba International in Uyo on Matchday 12 this weekend.
