Gareth Bale has released his own beer brand ahead of the upcoming World Cup. The Wales star is introducing a line of three beers to commemorate his country’s return to the tournament. It’s the first time Wales has played in a World Cup since 1958.

Welsh beer enthusiasts will be able to choose between Bale Ale, Bale Pale and Bale Lager. Both beers are brewed by Glamorgan Brewing Co. in collaboration with Bale and reportedly will be available in British Supermarket from October 3rd.

The winger has claimed that the idea has been in the works for years. “I am really looking forward to launching Bale Ale and Bale Lager into Tesco stores across Wales – it’s something we started a few years ago and to see the brand grow is really exciting,” Bale told PA News.

Bale also suggested that the partnership is a perfect fit due to the proximity of the company. “Being able to team up and work with Glamorgan Brewing Co, who are based only 10 minutes from my house, makes it even more special and we are extremely proud of what we have created together,” stated the winger.

Proceeds of the beer sales will go to help grow soccer and build facilities in his home country. “With this partnership we aim to give something back to Welsh grassroots football, and in particular, we want to help develop football facilities across Wales on a local level,” Bale continued. “We hope fans across Wales will be able to enjoy some Bale Ale and Lager as we head into the World Cup this year.”
