Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has picked the favourite player to win this year’s Ballon d’ Or.
Carragher said that Liverpool star Sadio Mane might be the ‘most likely’ winner of the Ballon d’Or amid the Reds’ ongoing quadruple chase.
Mane has been in inspired form for Liverpool this season and has, at times, eclipsed the efforts of Mohamed Salah in the Liverpool frontline.
The Senegalese international alongside Salah and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema have been tipped by many to win the Ballon d’ Or this year.
“Since January, the tendency to overlook him while Mohamed Salah grabbed all the attention has slightly changed,” Carragher wrote in his column for the Telegraph.
“If Mane continues his current form, he may help inspire Liverpool to four trophies, including the FA Cup against Chelsea. He will also be the Premier League’s most likely winner of the 2022 Ballon d’Or.”
