Balon d’Or: Oshoala Rated 20th Best Player In The World

Super Falcons and Barcelona Femeni striker, Asisat Oshoala was rated 20th best women player in the world at the 2023 Balon d’Or.

The five-time African Player of The Year was with the Nigeria senior women’s national team preparing for the second leg of the 2024 Olympics qualifier against Ethiopia on Monday when the award was ongoing.

Oshoala enjoyed immense success with her club side and was part of a Nigerian team that went close to making history at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

She won the league and Champions League with Barcelona and reached the Round of 16 of the World Cup with the Super Falcons, who were unbeaten in regular play.

The Lagos born striker also had a remarkable individual season despite injury trouble, scoring 21 goals in the league and five in the Champions League.

Oshoala joined her fellow Barcelona teammates Mapi Leon, Patri Guijaro, Fridolina Rolfo, Salma Paralluelo and the winner Aitana Bonmati, on the Ballon d’Or ranking.
