Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal has been awarded the 2024 Golden Boy for his remarkable breakthrough year with both Barcelona and Spain.
At just 17 years old, Yamal became the youngest player ever to win the prestigious Golden Boy award, and the third Barcelona player to claim the honor in the last four years, joining Pedri and Gavi.
Yamal secured the award after outperforming other top talents such as Joao Neves, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Warren Zaire-Emery.
Earlier in October, Yamal made history by winning the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, becoming the youngest-ever recipient of the award, which recognizes the best under-21 talent in men’s football.
The young star was also pivotal in Spain’s victory at last summer’s European Championship, earning the Young Player of the Tournament accolade.
He was included in the Team of the Tournament, and his spectacular semifinal goal against France was voted Goal of the Tournament.
