Barea of  Madagascar Celebrate First AFCON Victory.

 The Barea of Madagascar are celebrating their first ever Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) victory after Marco Ilaimaharitra’s thunderous free-kick in the 76th minutes  gave helped them to beat the Swallows of Burundi in their second Group B match of the ongoing AFCON competition in Egypt.

Madagascar, Burundi and Mauritania are the three debutants in this year’s AFCON and after a brilliant displayed against the Syli Nationale of Guinea in their first match on Saturday which ended in a 2-2 draw, the Bareas were more purposeful in their second match.

They will now play group’s leaders, the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their last group match on Sunday, June 30 and needs just a point off Nigeria to be assure of second round qualification.

The Super Eagles are topping the table with six points after winning their first two matches against the Swallows of Burundi and the Syli Nationale of Guinea which ended 1-0 respectively.

Madagascar are second in the group with four points after this victory and a draw against Guinea.
