Bassey arrives Amsterdam for Ajax medical

Date:

Calvin Bassey arrived in Amsterdam on Sunday afternoon to undergo medical tests ahead of his transfer to Eredivisie champions, Ajax.

Ajax have already agreed to pay Scottish Premiership giants, Glasgow Rangers €22m plus €5m add-ons for the versatile defender.

“Calvin Bassey, landed in Amsterdam right now together with his agents in order to undergo medical tests and sign contract as new Ajax player. Done deal,” transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano wrote on his Twitter handle on Sunday.

A number of Premier League clubs were also interested in Bassey but Ajax have moved ahead to secure his services.

The 22-year-old will replace Argentina international, Lisandro Martinez, who has moved to Manchester United.

Rangers are making a massive profit from the player, who they bought for just £230,000 from Leicester City two years ago.
