Bayelsa Queens trash Wadi Degla to set up CAFWCL semifinal clash with ASFAR Club

Bayelsa Queens have trashed Wadi Degla 3-0 in their last CAF Women’s Champions League Group B game to finish second and book a place in the semis against ASFAR Club.

The Prosperity Girls who entered the last Group B with one win from two games knew a win in the last game would push them into the last four and they got the needed victory.

Second half brace from Mercy Itimi and a first-half strike from Juliet Sunday ensured the win and a place in the semifinal in their first time at the tournament.

Juliet Sunday scored the first goal of the game in the 8th minute before Mercy Itimi added the brace in the 48th and 53rd minutes.

Bayelsa Queens will now play the home team, ASFAR Club of Morocco in the semifinal scheduled for Wednesday, 9th, November 2022 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium at 9 pm.

The other semifinal will see defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns play against Simba Queens on Thursday, 10th November 2022 at 5 pm.
