Ben Akwuegbu FC Duo Hit Austria For Trials

As teams take advantage of the summer transfer window both home and abroad to do business, high -flying Ben Akwuegbu FC are not left out in the fray, as two of their youngsters are Vienna bound for their trials in Austria.

The duo, Arum Stephen Bulus and Hassan Umar, who distinguished themselves last season, while playing in the colours of the club, were rewarded with this all-paid expenses deal by the proprietor, ex-international Benedict Akwuegbu, as part of his contribution and commitment towards helping and encouraging young- talented players in actualizing their football dreams.

While speaking to our reporter, Akwuegbu, who is popularly referred as ‘Austrian Bomber’ by fans during his active playing days, said he expended about N5m for both players to cover their flight tickets, Visas, insurance etc.

His words: “Two of my players, Arum Stephen Bulus and Hassan Umar are on their way to Austria for their trials.

“They will arrive Vienna, Austria in a couple of days where I will pick them up at the airport and take them straight to their club, Grazer AK for their trials.

“I spent about N5m as expenses for both players. This covers their tickets, Visas, insurance amongst others.

“It’s just my own way of rewarding and helping talented young players that distinguishes themselves in the game to live their dream”, he said.

Recall that Akwuegbu featured for Grazer Ak amongst other clubs while playing in Austria for many years.
