Ben Akwuegbu FC Through To Final Of Early Pre-season Tourney

Fast rising Ben Akwuegbu FC have qualified for the final of the Early Pre-season tournament currently ongoing in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

The giant killing side which got eliminated by whiskers by Premier League side, Plateau United in the semi final of the state FA Challenge Cup, defeated top NLO team, Deluxe via penalties to zoom in to the final.

The highly entertaining, pulsating and tension- soaked  game ended 3-3 in regulation time before Ben Akwuegbu FC won through penalties 5-4 to advance.

In the first semi final match played on Tuesday at the same 1905 Bukuru mini stadium, Jos south Plateau state, Nigeria, Ajester FC piped defending champions, Vom Vet Rovers on penalties 3-0 to also go through to the final after full time score stood at 2-2.

With this development, Ben Akwuegbu FC will now face non league amateur side, Ajester FC in the final on Saturday to determine who the winners of this year’s edition will be.

The competition,

Early pre-season football tournament 2024 is for NLO clubs and non league teams in preparation for the new season.

Top teams like Mighty Jets Feeders, Deluxe FC, Vom Vet Rovers, Plateau Jets FC,  Atarah FA amongst others were part of the keenly contested tournament.

Ben Akwuegbu FC inform striker, Dayo Habib scored a brace in the match to increase his goals tally in the competition to 8 goals, making him the overwhelming topscorer in the competition.
