Benue govt rewards Lobi Stars duo despite defeat to Sunshine Stars

Date:

Benue State Government has rewarded two Lobi Stars players despite the team’s defeat to Sunshine Stars on Sunday.

Lobi Stars fell to a 1-0 defeat against the Owena Waves at the Akure Sports Complex.

It was the Pride of Benue’s second consecutive defeat.

Two players, Kalu Orji and Christian Madu, were rewarded with cash gifts by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the state governor, Terver Akase.

“The award to the lads will rather encourage them to go back to the drawing board and fix things right ahead of their remaining fixtures.

“The lads need not lose their grips on the log but remain firm to secure a playoff ticket for their numerous teeming supporters as the league winds down,” Akase stated.

Lobi Stars remain top of the Group B table with 26 points despite the defeat.
