Big Relief For 3SC After Win Against Plateau United- Ogunbote

Gbenga Ogunbote has described the victory secured by his team over Plateau United in a five-goal thriller as a big relief and confidence booster.

Speaking with the media after the Oluyole Warriors took the maximum points off the visiting Jos based side on Matchday 11 of the NPFL at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ogunbote praised his players for lifting their game to ensure the winless streak of the team ended.

A brace from Ayanrinde Samuel and one from, Ghali Falke, cancelled the visitors’ shocking opener, to ensure the Oluyole Warriors return to winning ways.

“It is a big relief for the team, for sometime we have not been able to get three points both at home and on the road. It will enhance the confidence of the players and it will give them some kind of relief. But the important thing is that we thank God.”

The Oracle, as the gaffer is fondly called believes the win will serve as the tonic needed to get the desired result in subsequent games beginning with the Matchday 12 trip to Akure against Kwara United.

“We take it one after the other. Kwara United came here while we were sharing the stadium and they forced us to a draw. We pray that as we go there for the return leg, we will take our chances and we pray for a level playing ground.”

On goalkeeper Odah Okemute, the former Sunshine Stars, Rangers and Remo Stars handler said. “Okemute went there and did his best, played his role for the team like any other goalkeeper would have done. There is no special player and there is no ordinary player. The important thing is that he defended his integrity.”
