Bonaventure Gives Glory To God For Goal, Solid Team

Club Brugge of Belgium striker, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure has given thanks to God for helping him score in a dramatic 4-0 win over Standard Liege, while also noting that his colleagues put up a brilliant performance.

The Olympic Eagles’ rookie said he was happy to hit target in the league encounter at Jan Breydel Stadium on Monday night, but equally added that his teammates were solid and put up a good performance.

Bonaventure got the third goal for his side, after the Belgium Jupiler League holders went ahead courtesy an own goal from Zinho Vanheusden in the 22nd minute.

Two quick goals then followed from Zinho Vanheusden and Bonaventure 14 minutes later, while Arsenal transfer target, Wesley complete the rout, much to the Nigerian youngster’s delight.

He added that he was equally happy to help Brugge break a 21-year-curse with his sixth goal of the season and was afterwards named in the Belgian League team of the week.

The under-23 national team star, who has now scored a total of seven goals in 20 appearances so far this season, is also happy to see Brugge move to just a point behind the current league leaders, Racing Genk.

Bonaventure stated: “Good performance from the Team. All glory to almighty GOD. We keep fighting till the End.”
