The boxing promoters association of Nigeria BPAN held its maiden elective congress in Lagos on Monday. The event conducted by members of the Nigeria Bar Association was held at the conference room of the National Institute For Sports NIS.
Chairman CEO of Yucateco Boxing Promotions Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, emerges as the new president of the nascent association, while the founder of De Lads Boxing Promotions
Wasiu Alabi Waheed is the new vice president. Neye Sowunmi was voted as Secretary, while Adesina Qudus Adejunwon is the new treasurer of BPAN.
Other members of the executives are Yusuf Olowolekemo as Asst. Secretary, Saleh Fawaz head of international affairs, Ekujumi Patrick Oladapo financial secretary, Ganiyu Oladapo as PRO, and Lawal Folashade as Welfare Officer. Oshimi Ezekiel is BPAN’s regional vice president, South West. Oyenka Eboma Elum is the Ex Officio, Edna Blade Ayebeni is BPAN’s Spoke person, while Emanuel Edams Ezurukam is the body’s Regional Vice President, South West.
The newly elected president of BPAN Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, in his address said the body is committed to advancing the cause of boxing in Nigeria.
” I must say it’s a new dawn for boxing in Nigeria, as boxing promoters we have made our marks in the sports individually, so you can emerging what we stand to achieve working together as a body “.
” in as much as we hope to complement the existing boxing structures in the country, you can as well be rest assured that BPAN won’t hold back on charting a new course for boxing in Nigeria through its plans and programmes”
An elated vice president of BPAN and founder of De Lads Boxing Promotions Wasiu Alabi Waheed, praised the newly elected executives for their commitment to the actualization of the body.
” this is only the start of greater things to come, with the level of commitment every member of this group have shown in the last one year, i make bold to say the fortune of Nigerian boxing is about to change for the better”.

The boxing promoters association of Nigeria instituted over a year ago currently has over Fifty active members in its ranks.
