Boxing: Sports Minister Congratulates Anthony Joshua on Win

Date:

The Sports Minister Sunday Dare has congratulated Anthony Joshua, the Nigerian born former heavyweight boxing champion on his victory over American Jermaine Franklin.

Joshua defeated his opponent by unanimous decision at the 02 Arena in London late on Saturday night to pick up the crucial win in his first fight since the September 2022 loss to Oleksandr Uysk in Saudi Arabia.

In his statement, the Minister said Joshua’s victory was well deserved, adding that the former champion demonstrated the heart of a lion.

“You never gave up. With an undying spirit you clutched victory when it mattered most. We will continue to cheer you on,” Dare said.
