A Kuje Magistrates’ Court in Abuja has granted bail to Omoyele Sowore, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer Aloy Ejimakor, his brother Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and 11 others who were arrested during a protest in the Federal Capital Territory.
The defendants were each granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with standard conditions.
They were detained following their participation in the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest, which called for the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

The protest, held earlier in Abuja, was dispersed by security operatives, leading to the arrest of several participants, including Sowore, a human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters. Ejimakor, who has consistently represented Kanu in court, and Prince Emmanuel Kanu were also among those taken into custody.
The ruling came after the court had earlier ordered the remand of the accused in the Kuje Correctional Centre pending formal arraignment.
