Nigeria’s D’Tigress clinched a record fifth consecutive Women’s AfroBasket title with a commanding 78–64 win over Mali.
The triumph marks Nigeria’s seventh overall championship at the tournament.
Under head coach Rena Wakama, the team also stretched their unbeaten run in the competition to 29 games.
The victory secured the West Africans a spot at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Germany.

Three countries – Mali, South Africa and Senegal – will compete in the playoffs in March 2024 to fight for a place at the World Cup.
D’Tigress asserted early control, edging Mali 26–21 in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw a fierce contest, with both sides going into halftime level at 41–41.
Nigeria pulled ahead in the third quarter, taking a 61–56 lead into the final stretch.
They sealed the win in dominant fashion, finishing 78–64 to secure the championship.
