Date:

Brentford, Premier League newcomers are favourites to sign Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo in the January transfer window, Megasportsarena.com understands.

Aribo has been one of Rangers’ standout performers this season – making 27 appearances in all competitions.

The English born Super Eagles player scored a superb individual goal against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership last Saturday with club legend Barry Ferguson telling a radio station: “[Aribo] has been Rangers’ best player by a country mile this season”.

According to the Scottish Sun, the 25-year-old’s form has been attracting attention from the Premier League with Brentford now clear favourites to secure his signature in January.

Aribo is entering the last 18 months of his contract meaning Rangers may be forced to offload him if he declines to sign a new deal at Ibrox or else they will risk losing him for free.

Other Premier Clubs rumoured to be interested in the midfielder include Crystal Palace, Watford and Newcastle United.

Born in south London, Aribo spent four seasons with Charlton Athletic before joining Rangers on a four-year deal in June 2019.

He played a key role in Rangers’ run the to the Scottish Premiership title last season, scoring seven goals in 31 league appearances.

The midfielder has also become an important player for Nigeria in recent years and should play a big part in the African Cup of Nations early next year.
