Randy Waldrum, who led Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, is overwhelmed with joy over his team recognition at the 2023 CAF Awards.
At the CAF Football Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco, the Super Falcons scooped major awards as a team and individuals.
According to Waldrum; “So incredibly proud of my team Super Falcons for being named CAF’s National Team of the Year! Special congratulations to Asisat Oshoala, Player of the Year and. Nadozie Chiamaka, Goalkeeper of the Year and Abiodun Deborah, finalist for Young Player of the Year.”

Chiamaka Nnadozie was voted the African Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year to become the first to win the African goalkeeping accolade.
Asisat Oshoala became a record six times winner of the African Women’s Player of the Year while the Super Falcons, who finished the group stage unbeaten and exited the global showpiece via penalty shootouts against eventual finalists England, won the African Women’s National Team of the Year.
The trio of Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala made the CAF FIFPRO Women’s 11 while Abiodun Deborah emerged finalist for the Young Player of the Year.
