CAF CL: Plateau United FC off to Tunisia ahead of Esperance game

Nigerian club, Plateau United FC will on Wednesday night, begin their journey to Tunisia where they will face Esperance in the second leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round.

The Tunisia-bound team will board the Turkish Airline flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by 11:45pm on Wednesday October 12, 2022.

Upon arrival in Turkey, the Nigerian side will board a connecting flight to Tunisia.

All things being equal, Plateau United FC will arrive Tunisia at least 48hrs to the crucial game on Saturday.

The return leg second preliminary round tie of the CAF Champions League against Esperance of Tunisia is slated to hold at the Rades Stadium Saturday October 15, 2022.

Plateau United FC head into the return leg boosting of a slim 2-1 advantage from the first leg in Nigeria.

Unlike their more illustrious hosts who are three time champions of the CAF Champions League, Plateau United FC have previously appeared in the competition twice and will seek to reach the group stage for the first time this season

All but one of the players on the Matchday squad for the first leg win are on the flight to Tunisia. Jackson Eru the only altercation is replaced by Mustapha Abdullahi.

The aggregate winner of this tie will qualify for the money-spinning group stage of the 2022/2023 CAF Champions League.
