CAF Confed Cup: Rivers United must be top notch against Al-Nasr – Festus

Rivers United captain Festus Austin has stated that his side must be at their best against El Nasr Benghazi of Libya in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff round tie.

The encounter is billed for the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

With the winner over two legs assured of a spot in the competition’s group stage, Festus Austin nicknamed “Agada” insists he and his teammates know what is expected of them going into the tie.

“We just have to put in more than a hundred percent performance for us to get the day because we how important this game is to us and we don’t have any excuse not to get to the group stage,” Festus Austin said in his press conference on Monday ahead of the game against the Libyan side.

He added: “We just have to do everything we have to do in our home. Try to win convincingly and i am very sure we will win.”

In the other match slated for Moshood Abiola stadium, Abuja, Plateau United will trade tackles with another Libyan side, Al Akhdar in the first leg of the group playoff.
