Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma has expressed displeasure with his team’s performance against ASEC Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday.
Mofosse Karidioula scored in the second minute to condemn the Nigerian champions to their second defeat in Group B.
Rivers United came second in the group with 10 points, while ASEC Mimosa top the standings with 13 points.
Eguma revealed that his team lost due to a blunder they committed early in the game.
“We played below par but it wasn’t a bad outing. Eguma stated in his post-match chat with the media.
“We lost the game due to the blunder we made very early and it weakened the team, that was the reason we lost this game.”
The quarter-final draw will be conducted at the CAF headquarters in Cairo on Wednesday.
