CAF WCL: Bayelsa Queens To Earn N85.9 Million, As They Chase Title

Date:

After making history to become the first Nigerian team to reach the last four of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Bayelsa Queens are now N85, 917, 821 million Naira richer.

Recall the WAFU B champions flogged their Egyptian counterpart Wadi Degla 3-0 in the last Group B game on Sunday in Marrakech.

A total of $200,000 is guaranteed for Bayelsa Queens for qualifying for the semifinals of the second edition tournament.

The Prosperity Girls could earn more from the CAF largesse if they get to the final.

According to CAF who introduced prize money for the Women’s Champions League for the first time, Bayelsa Queens could take home $400,000 if they win the title or $250,000 as runners-up.

It will however be a hard nut to crack for Bayelsa Queens as they confront Moroccan side AS FAR in the semi-final of the tournament after finishing second behind defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa.

AS FAR topped Group A having won all the matches in the group and garnered the maximum of 9 points.
