CAFCC: Bendel Insurance beat ASO Chlef in Benin

Bendel Insurance FC of Nigeria defeated the visiting ASO Chlef of Algeria 1-0 in the first leg of their 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday, at the at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State.

Insurance striker Imade Osarenkhoe scored in the 42nd minute to earn the hosts a slim victory ahead of its return leg on August 27th in Algeria.

Insurance had wasted three glaring chances within the first 30 minutes of play before Osarenkhoe connected with Sunday Anyanwu’s free kick to give the Nigerian side the lead.

Osarenkhoe’s goal was the only goal in the encounter as the match finished 1-0 in favour of Bendel Insurance.

Bendel Insurance will travel to Algeria for second leg as they look to to qualify for the second round of the competition.
