CAFCC: “Our Target Is To Qualify From The Group” – Rivers United Coach

Ahead of their opening group game in the CAF Confederation Cup, Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma has said their ambition is to qualify from the group.

The Pride of Rivers will face Congolese side Diable Noirs on Sunday and the coach said they are the underdogs but they are not afraid.

While speaking ahead of the game, Eguma said they are set to pick the qualification ticket from the group stage.

“Everyone has an equal game to play and playing away first is an advantage for us.

“We know them by their name and follow them in the past, they’ve participated in this competition in recent time but we do not much about them presently, their presence in the competition in the past make them a strong side.

“Many people thought the group is easy, where you have Noirs, ASEC Mimosa and Motema Pembe.

I think we are the only underdog in the group but we are not afraid.

We are here for business and purpose, I think our ambition is to qualify from the group”, he said.

Congolese side Diable Noirs will host Nigeria reigning champions, Rivers United in their first group match on Sunday (today) Brazzaville at 4pm.
