Remo Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat against Ghanaian champions Medeama SC in their CAF Champions League preliminary round first-leg tie at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.

Jonathan Sowah scored the decisive goal from outside the box in the 21st minute.

The hosts piled more pressure on the Remo Stars’ defence but were unable to double their goal tally.

Remo Stars struggled to create scoring chances in the game.

Daniel Ogunmodede’s side will need to score two goals without conceding in the reverse fixture to scale through to the next round.

The second leg will be held at the Remo Stars next Sunday.
