Cairo Agog For SPOCS U19 Scouting Cup

Cairo, the capital City of one of the world and Africa’s oldest nations, Egypt is bubbling and agog with SPOCS U19 Scouting Cup 2024 which is currently ongoing.

 The tournament which has in attendance youth teams from the top clubs in the country, holds from May 2 – May 11.  

Speaking to us exclusively from the land of the Pharaohs, SPOCS Nigeria Director, Gbenga Agbejoye described it as a festival of the best of youth football.

“It’s been an awesome experience. The city, the football, the people, we’ve loved it all.

Agbejoye further stated that 12 teams are involved in the 10 days tournament with the intention to unearth the next Mohammed Salah, Mohamed  Elneny amongst others.

“We have 12 teams in the tournament from the top clubs in the country.

“The quality of play has been quite high and we are satisfied and encouraged with what we are seeing here”, he stated.

A recently established team, Grassrunners travel all the way from Nigeria to be part of the tournament.

The 12 teams in the tournament are Zed FC, ENPPI, Zamalek, Cleopatra, Egypt U17, Ittihad, El Mokaweloon, Ismaily. Others are El Masry, Wadi Degla, Fountain Gate and Grassrunners.   

The notable Sports Management outfit were responsible for the move of the likes of Salah, Baba Rahman, Elneny, Adama Bojang amongst others out of Africa.
