Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, has responded to Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah’s revenge wishes after the Los Blancos defeated Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second-leg a few days ago.
Salah had disclosed he wanted to face Real Madrid in the final before the LaLiga champions defeated Man City 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu to qualify for the final in Paris.
The Egyptian captain relished the chance to get revenge on Carlo Ancelotti’s side, tweeting after their victory over Manchester City: “We have a score to settle.”
Real Madrid will now clash with Liverpool in the Champions League final in Stade de France on Saturday.
It would be a repeat of the 2018 showpiece event, where Liverpool was defeated 3-1 against Real Madrid.
And Benzema has now warned Salah, insisting that the Champions League final will be a different game.
“Salah can say what he wants,” Benzema told Movistar. “But this is a different game.”
He added, “Liverpool has a lot of confidence. They think they have already won the match, maybe.
“Maybe they think this isn’t the same Real Madrid as last time, these things. Maybe they think they are favourites.”
