Manchester United have changed their flight to Madrid for their Champions League clash with Atletico at the last minute.
The Premier League club usually fly with Russian airline Aeroflot for their European games under a commercial agreement.
However, Tuesday’s flight which was set to take off at 4pm, was cancelled amid growing tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
United instead flew with UK-based charter airline Titan Airways and will land in Madrid on Tuesday night.
The Athletic reports that the decision to cancel the flight was mutual between Manchester United and Aeroflot.
Russia had sent troops into two rebel-held areas of Ukraine in a “peacekeeping mission”.
