Home-based Super Eagles head coach Salisu Yusuf insists his team can still turn things around despite the first leg defeat to Ghana.

Salisu’s charges lost 2-0 to the Black Galaxies in the first leg of the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier last weekend at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The home Eagles dominated the game in the first half but conceded twice after the break.

They will need to score thrice without conceding to secure a place in Algeria 2023.

The reverse fixture will take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja on Saturday.

“What is past is past, and that is the case with the match we played in Ghana. Now we are looking forward to a good match on Saturday,” Yusuf told nff.com.

“We are doing all we need to do to achieve our utmost desire to be in Algeria next year. There may have been one or two lapses that caught us on the bad end in Cape Coast but we can’t continue to dwell on that. We want to achieve a good result on Saturday.”
