After sitting out in his club’s first three league games of the season due to ill health, Charles Chinaemerem Okwara began life at his new club, Amora FC on a personal bright note.
The enterprising midfielder, though, didn’t make the starting list, but he was introduced as a second half substitute into the game in the 65th minute, with the encounter still all-squared at 0-0.
He however made an immediate impact, as he provided a sublime assist pass to put his team ahead 0–1 against the home side, Academica, to make his debut for the club a remarkable one.
Even though they eventually surrounded the 0-1lead to end the match at 1-1, having conceded a last minute equalizer from their opponents, Okwara has already done enough by the impression he made in the game to underline his relevance and how pivotal he would be to Amora’s aspirations this season.
“I just thank God for my successful debut at the weekend. Though, I would have loved to begin on a winning note and may be also score, but it was not meant to be.
“Though, I didn’t start the game, but I was introduced in the second half around the 65th minute, while the match was still 0-0.
“I however provided a sweet assist to put my team 1- 0 ahead. Although, the opponents equalized at the dearth of time to end the match 1-1, my teammates and coaches were happy with my contribution”, he told us from his Portugal base
